2019 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Intercontinental Olympic Qualification Tournament
The process of the qualification for the 2020 Men’s Olympic volleyball tournament has already begun. Today, we’ll talk about the 2019 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Intercontinental Olympic Qualification Tournament. The competition started on August 9 and lasted till August 11. The tournament was held in six cities: Varna (Bulgaria), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Bari (Italy), Gdaisk–Sopot (Poland), Saint Petersburg (Russia) and Ningbo (China).
It’s important to know that the volleyball tournament brought together 24 teams from around the world. Such volleyball teams as Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada, China, Cuba, Italy, Iran, Japan, Finland, France, Egypt, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, South Korea, Tunisia and United States took part in the qualification tournament for the Summer Olympic Games 2020.
It’s important to note that only six teams that have qualified for the Summer Olympic Games 2020. Among the top 6 teams that will take part in the 2020 men’s volleyball Olympic tournament are: Bulgaria, China, Italy, Netherlands, Poland as well as Russia. Pool Composition at 2019 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Intercontinental Olympic Qualification Tournament
Volleyball teams that participated in the 2019 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Intercontinental Olympic Qualification Tournament have been divided into 6 pools: Pool A, Pool B, Pool C, Pool D as well as Pool E and Pool F. Four teams played in each pool.
– Brazil, Egypt as well as Bulgaria and Puerto Rico played in the Pool A.
– United States, Belgium as well as the Netherlands and South Korea played in Pool B.
– Italy, Serbia as well as Australia and Cameron played in Pool C.
– Poland, France as well as Slovenia and Tunisia played in Pool D.
– Russia, Iran as well as Cuba and Mexico played in Pool E.
– Canada, Argentina as well as Finland and China played in Pool F.
Matches of Pool A
Matches of Pool A took place in Varna, Bulgaria. Brazil took the 1-st place, Bulgaria took the 2-nd place, Egypt took the 3-rd place and Puerto Rico took the 4-th place in Pool A.
Brazil defeated Puerto Rico 3 – 0 (Total: 75 – 61, Set 1: 25–23, Set 2: 25–19 and Set 3: 25–19).
Egypt lost to Bulgaria 1 – 3 (Total: 86 – 102, Set 1: 11 – 25, Set 2: 31 – 33, Set 3: 25 – 19 and Set 4: 19 – 25).
Brazil defeated Egypt 3 – 0 (Total: 75 – 45, Set 1: 25 – 12, Set 2: 25 – 19 and Set 3: 25 – 14).
Puerto Rico lost to Bulgaria 0 – 3 (Total: 54 – 75, Set 1: 20 – 25, Set 2: 22 – 25 and Set 3: 12 – 25).
Egypt defeated Puerto Rico 3 – 0 (Total: 81 – 63, Set 1: 25 – 17, Set 2: 31 – 29 and Set 3: 25 – 17).
Bulgaria lost to Brazil 2 – 3 (Total: 107 – 114, Set 1: 25 – 23, Set 2: 25 – 19, Set 3: 30 – 32, Set 4: 16 – 25 and Set 5: 11 – 15).
Matches of Pool B
Matches of Pool B took place in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The United States took the 1-st place, the Netherlands took 2-nd place, Belgium took the 3-rd place and South Korea took the 4-th place in Pool B.
The Netherlands defeated South Korea 3 – 2 (Total: 114 – 108, Set 1: 23 – 25, Set 2: 25 – 27, Set 3: 26 – 24, Set 4: 25 – 20 and Set 5: 15 – 12).
Belgium lost to the United States 1 – 3 (Total: 82 – 92, Set 1: 20 – 25, Set 2: 19 – 25, Set 3: 25 – 17 and Set 4: 18 – 25).
Belgium lost to the Netherlands 0 – 3 (Total: 63 – 75, Set 1: 22 – 25, Set 2: 21 – 25 and Set 3: 20 – 25).
The United States has defeated South Korea 3 – 0 (Total: 75 – 57, Set 1: 25 – 20, Set 2: 25 – 21 and Set 3: 25 – 16).

Matches of Pool C took place in Bari, Italy. Italy took the 1-st place, Serbia took 2-nd place, Australia took the 3-rd place and Cameron took the 4-th place in Pool C.

Matches of Pool D took place in Gdansk–Sopot, Poland. Poland took the 1-st place, France took the 2-nd place, Slovenia took the 3-rd place and Tunisia took the 4-th place in Pool D.

Matches of Pool F took place in Ningbo, China. Argentina took the 1-st place, Canada took the 2-nd place, china took the 3-rd place and Finland took the 4-th place in pool F.
